GUIDED DAY TRIP IN THE ARCHIPELAGO OUTSIDE TAXINGE CASTLE
During July and August, TNT Sea Kayaking in collaboration with Kanotkungen organizes a day trip on
Lake Mälaren. The guided tour goes from Taxinge Castle over to Kalkudden on the other side of Gripsholmsviken,
on to the larger islands Ramsön, Obygdön and back.
We arrange all transportation of kayaks and equipment to Taxinge.
Our experienced kayak guide will meet you at Taxingebadet. We prepare the kayaks and go through
basic paddling techniques and inform about safety on the water. Then we paddle off on a
wonderful experience out over Gripsholm Bay towards Kalkudden and further towards Obygdön. There we take a
lunch break of approx. 1 hour before heading back to Taxinge. There is also time for swimming if you want.
The tour is suitable for those who have some previous experience in kayaking. It is 16 km which
means approx. 4 hours of active paddling. We are expected to be back in Taxinge no later than 17.

Practical information
We meet at 09.30 at Taxingebadet
Swimming ability is a requirement for participation
Young people must be 16 years old
Own equipment:
- Clothing for paddling or regular training clothes in functional material
- Paddling shoes or water-resistant sneakers
- A complete change of clothes in a waterproof bag
- Functional jacket
- Swimwear, towel and sun protection (sunscreen, cap, sunglasses)
- Drink (2 liters preferably in smaller bottles), packed lunch and snacks/fruit
- Mobile phone and car keys stored in a waterproof bag/container
- Securing for glasses in the form of a strap or string
- A simple mat to sit on the ground
About the guide
Thomas Richter will be your guide during the tour. Thomas is a certified guide and instructor
with 14 years of experience in kayaking on large waters.
- Certified guide according to Nordic Instructor License since 2012
- Certified instructor at blue level within EPP (not examiner at present)
- 10 years of guiding paddlers in Sweden, Norway and on Åland
Since 2018 he offers under TNT Sea Kayaking everything from simpler paddles on Lake Mälaren to more
advanced sea trips in the Stockholm archipelago.
